Body & Mind Remixes

At the moment Con.struct and Metasound are working on a remix of Drumatic's "Body & Mind". As expected Con.struct is going to
reinterpret the tune in Drumfunk-style whereas Metasound is heading for something complete different. His remix will have a straight bass drum and will be more assigned to Tech and Deep House. These are also the styles BREAK THE SURFACE is musically moving to. Metasound is celebrating two premieres besides: not only that it is his first release as a producer, but also his debut on his own label BREAK THE SURFACE.

After having released tunes that are on a very high level for a digital-only release, such as Drumatic's "Sleeveless EP" and Paul SG's "Lost in Halftime" & "Landslide", BTS003 comes up with two remarkable tunes, too.

"Avani" produced by CarlMatthes from Caracas (Venezuela) and Tyler Straub from San Mateo (California) is a Drum&Bass track that is characterized by its autonomy. So the beat shuttles between halftime and laidback but does not commit to one of them. A felicitous and impulsive groove is evolved in combination with Latin percussions. In addition, Indian influences and Asian vocals provide a deep aspect. When the bassline starts after the drop, the tune confidently threads a path between deepness and energetic rhythm.

The track already received DJ-support from London Elektricity, Fabio, DJ Flight and others.

The second tune is another musical contribution by BREAK THE SURFACE artist Paul SG. He provided a quite deep and slightly dreamy piece with "Slippers". However, the funky bassline functions as a good counterpart to the moody atmosphere and therefore the tune is not only intented for listening use but also meant to be played in the clubs.

OUT NOW: Body & Mind Remixes!

With BTS004, we are releasing our first remix. For this purpose Drumatic's "Body & Mind" was selected and then remixed by Con.struct and Metasound.

Con.struct's reinterpretation is the right tune for the primetime in the club. He adds his flavour by using grooving drums and a raving bassline. All in all, this creates an energetic drive. Yet he manages to keep the deep vibe of the track. So he melts powerful beats and a deep atmosphere, which is typical for Con.struct.

Metasound headed for something complete different. His remix has a straight bass drum and is more assigned to Tech and Deep House. He left enough space for the sounds and used the samples of the track very sparingly.

In the future, rather 4/4 beats at around 125 bpm are going to be released on BTS.

After a short break of releasing, BREAK THE SURFACE is back to sneak into your ear with some new sounds. We used the last few weeks to realign the sound of our label. Now we move away from Drum & Bass and keep to our long secret love, the 4/4 time rhythms such as Electronic House, Techno, minimal sounds and everything in between.

Efka is our artist for the restart. He is a gifted producer who understands to create smart grooves. With this release he also debuts. It really is about time that his material gets public because a long process of ripening has to be rewarded with a large crop.

With "Schweine und Diamanten" comes another Blues-Tech-House-Minimal-Tune that will make you throw up your Arms on the Dancefloor.
"Gusto" and "Wooden Roller" are havin the Arsen-typically Groove, without sounding too constructed, Timeless and Latesummer-sounding is "Wombat" lining up on this impish EP. Most of all characteristic is the subtle humorous and a bit comical mood as the recurrent theme of all the Tracks.
